Demos, the study association of the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance was created in January of 2006 when the first group of Master students started their respective programs. The word Demos is derived from Greek and it means ‘the populace’ or ‘the common people’. Demos strives to provide fellow students with a community that facilitates professional capacity enhancement, network development and academic achievement.Some activities which Demos has organized in the past or is planning to organize in the future are:
- international Dinners;
- academic excursions
(e.g. trip to European Commission, in Brussels, Belgium)
- assistance with the promotion of activities organized by the School;
- movie Nights;
- provide information about activities related to the Dutch culture;
- networking;
- providing platforms to learn from each others experiences.
